What we mean by garden renovations
The bit beneath the surface.
A full renovation is the most complicated thing we do - and the most rewarding when it's properly planned. The difference between a good one and a frustrating one is decided weeks before anyone breaks ground.
Designed before it's built
Plan, materials, layout and budget all agreed before any spade hits the ground. No surprises mid-project, no scope creep.
All trades under one roof
Hard landscaping, planting, drainage, electrics, outbuildings - co-ordinated by us, not you. One point of contact, one accountable team.
Tidy, weekly, transparent
Skips out daily, paths swept, weekly photo updates. The smallest thing, but it's the difference between a four-week build that feels calm and one that feels like a war zone.
Why this works in Fleet
Locally tuned, not location-swapped.
Fleet is one of our busiest renovation areas. The Elvetham Heath, Church Crookham and Ancells Farm estates threw up a particular kind of garden - generous enough to be worth investing in, but rarely finished properly by the developer. Most of our Fleet renovations start with lifting that builder's work and rebuilding from the soil up.
Thin topsoil over compacted hardcore is the Fleet pattern. We dig out, properly cultivate or import 200mm of fresh soil, and rebuild from there - sub-bases for the patio, drainage paths re-set, lawn prepared so it actually thrives instead of yellowing every August.
- Thin topsoil, compacted ground - We strip the top section, cultivate or import 200mm of fresh soil, and rebuild the surface from there.
- Drainage on level estate plots - Flat sites mean water has nowhere obvious to go. We design falls, install perforated drains and size soakaways properly.
- Narrow side access - Mini diggers, barrowed materials and protected paths through shared driveways. We brief neighbours before the dig starts.

Elvetham Heath · GU51
A new-build garden, finally working as one piece.
A young family on Elvetham Heath had three years of frustration with the developer garden. We took it back to bare earth, re-set levels, built a wider porcelain terrace, oak sleeper raised beds and a cedar garden room used as a quiet office at the back. Five weeks on site, finished a fortnight ahead of schedule.

Common questions
What Fleet clients usually ask about garden renovations.
Will you handle planting as well as hard landscaping?+
Yes. Trees, hedging, raised beds and structural planting are part of every full renovation. For detailed perennial schemes we'll bring in a designer if it adds value.
How long is the team actually on site?+
Most full renovations run four to ten weeks on site. We agree a programme upfront and update you weekly with photos and progress notes.
What about drainage, levels and the things underneath?+
All included. We diagnose drainage properly, re-grade where needed, install soakaways and rebuild sub-bases. The work you'll never see is what makes the work you do see hold up.
What size project do you usually take on?+
Most full renovations sit between £25,000 and £100,000+, depending on size and materials. We're happy to discuss budget openly on the first visit and walk away if it's not a fit.
