Patios in Bracknell - ground tested, then built.
We design and build patios for Bracknell families - the kind of work where the detail beneath the surface matters as much as the finish on top.

What we mean by patios
The bit beneath the surface.
A patio is the most-used room in most British gardens - and the one most likely to look tired by the third winter. The work that decides how it ages is mostly invisible: the sub-base, the falls, the bedding mortar, the pointing mix.
Full mortar beds, every time
Slabs bedded fully on a wet mortar mix - no dot-and-dab, no rocking, no failed joints two winters in. The slowest part of the job and the bit that decides everything.
Falls and drainage thought through
Levels set away from the house at 1:80, soakaways where the ground needs them, joints pointed in colour-matched mortar that doesn't crack out.
Materials chosen to suit the house
Indian sandstone, honed porcelain, clay paver - picked with the property in mind. Samples brought to you, not selected from a brochure.
Why this works in Bracknell
Locally tuned, not location-swapped.
Bracknell sits on mixed ground depending on which estate you're on. The first job on every Bracknell patio is to test it properly rather than assume - sub-base depth and drainage are then specified to suit, not by default.
Bracknell sits on a mix of sand and clay depending on which estate you're on. We always test the ground before committing to a sub-base spec rather than assuming.
- Mixed sand and clay - Ground tested early; sub-base depth and drainage detailed accordingly.
- Builder's compaction on newer plots - Top section lifted, soil cultivated or imported, sub-bases rebuilt to proper depth.
- Estate boundaries - Tired fence lines often refreshed alongside the rest of the work - feather edge with oak posts to outlast the next decade.

Warfield · RG42
Sandstone terrace pulled off a rear extension.
A Warfield family wanted the rear of the house opening properly onto the garden. A wider Indian sandstone terrace, falls set away from the bifolds, oak sleeper edging into the lawn. Used daily through the summer.

Common questions
What Bracknell clients usually ask about patios.
How do we know the sub-base will be right for our plot?+
We test the ground on the first visit rather than quoting blind. Sandy free-draining sites get one spec; clay-heavy plots get sub-base depth increased to 200mm and drainage detailed in.
Can you remove the old patio and dispose of the spoil?+
Yes - lift, break out and skip removal are all included in the price. We work tidily, sweep daily and protect routes through the house.
Sandstone or porcelain - which is right for our garden?+
Sandstone is warmer underfoot, weathers softly and suits older or family-feeling gardens. Porcelain is harder, stays cleaner under shade and reads more contemporary. We bring samples to you and look at both against the house before deciding.
How long does a typical patio take to lay?+
A 30–50m² patio runs one to two weeks from dig to clean-up. Larger terraces with steps or retaining can stretch to three. We give you a clear day-by-day plan before we start.
