Slabs bedded fully on a wet mortar mix - no dot-and-dab, no rocking, no failed joints two winters in. The slowest part of the job and the bit that decides everything.

A Broomhall family wanted a calmer, larger terrace for entertaining. Honed Indian sandstone, full mortar beds, hidden falls into a linear drain at the lawn edge, replanted yew screening either side. Used through the summer hosting season.
